Why Lavender?

Lavender essential oil is a very commonly used and talked about oil in the essential oil or aromatherapy space because this oil has so many varied benefits and uses. This oil can be used in so many ways to support all kinds of ailments or topics. In case you didn’t know them, or you want to learn more about this oil, I’m excited to share some of the benefits and uses of lavender essential oil. I will start off that lavender was one of my least favorite oils but as I've learned to blend it with other oils, let's just say my usage has increased.

Antiseptic and Anti-Inflammatory

Lavender oil is believed to have some antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, meaning it may help with some wounds such as bug bites or small burns. Its purpose would be to aid in keeping a wound clean and possibly reduce inflammation. Anecdotally, lavender diluted with coconut oil has been my go-to when I break out with anything on my skin or if I got a little too close to my stove.

Pain Relief

Another common use for lavender essential oil is in support for head tension, sores, toothaches, and more. A drop of lavender diluted with a carrier oil as a topical may help reduce tension or other pain greatly.

Promotes Healing

Studies have begun to show that lavender can actually help promote skin tissue healing and reduce scarring. This means it can be used to help make your wounds heal better or on already healed wounds to try to limit scar tissue.

Calming

The calming aspect of lavender essential oils shows in many uses and recommendations. Since this oil can be calming, it can be used to help improve sleep, fight insomnia, reduce and improve anxiety, reduce restlessness, and more.

MONTHLY Help FOR HORMONES

Since this oil has so many varied uses and properties, it has been shown to help women with a range of PMS symptoms. It can help with alleviating the extreme emotional symptoms and be used for digestive problems like bloating as well as used for reducing cramp pain.

There are so many more benefits and uses for lavender essential oil, and the ways you can utilize this to help with many issues. But these are some of the biggest ones that people use this oil for. Personally, I love adding lavender to my skin serum, hair conditioner and toner!

It’s important to note and remember, essential oils are not for everyone and not safe to be directly used on your skin. Please be sure to consult with your doctor about essential oil use and learn how to safely use it to reap the benefits and avoid side effects.
