Disney's Frozen 2 Teaser Trailer

They’re baaaaaack. Ana, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf!

I’m not sure how you feel about Frozen, but I love it and I am not here to sway you either way, because I am totally biased. I love the story, the characters and YES the music! :) I’m thrilled that the power couple Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are back with songwriting and the film will feather the familiar voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Goff and Josh Gad!

The Frozen soundtrack is one of my favorites. Our family car isn’t tech friendly so we have a cd player and the only cds I own are Disney. Currently for the kids Moana is the running favorite that I play, but I also have Frozen and Into the Woods. haha. Let’s just say if they are being difficult, I will play Let it Go! :)

ANYWAY, here’s the new trailer for Frozen 2, see for yourself, but make sure to come back because we need to chat.

SO! What do you think? I have so many questions, which is typical of watching any teaser trailer. Why is it so desert-like, what the heck happened to Ana’s hair (it’s super cute, but still), why are there so many reindeer and why is Elsa stuck on some random island?! I got scared for a minute when I didn’t see my boy, Olaf, but he popped in there! You know how winter was coming for so long in GOT? Well looks like Fall or something dark is taking over Arendelle, if that is where they are even at!

We get no glimpse into who the “villain” will be in this trailer, or why it seems everyone is separated. Something went down, and I’m anxious to find out. I guess we have to wait until they release more peeks into the film!

Please tell me someone is excited to see this!

Frozen 2 opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019!

My calendar is marked. :) How about you?

A Magical Mama's Day Gift Guide

Fashion, DisneyCamilleComment

If you're anything like me, you love getting and giving gifts. I also really love shopping and supporting small business. So, I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite Magic Makers that are crafting away and supporting their families!

As a work from home mama, I can't tell you how awesome it is to know that I have support in my endeavors because juggling businesses, blog, kids, marriage, and school can be rough. There are many days when I just want to lay on the floor... But, because of my amazing hubby, kids and tribe of friends that are family, I press on.

Welcome to this month's Blogorail Black Loop. Today we are sharing gift ideas for Mother's Day.

With Mother's Day just around the corner, I was thinking of what I would love to open for the special occasion, and came up with a few of my top magical gifts that would support small businesses run by Mamas, meaning quality products for me and pixie dust pay for a mama-preneur on Mother's Day. A win for everyone!

There are so many awesome women that are movers and shakers, and while I can't list them all, I am sure that you will find something for the magical mama in your life (or for yourself) amongst this list!

Already picked out your gifts to give for Mother's Day? You know what they say.

Treat. yo. self.

Mama & Little® Silicone Jewelry • If I had access to these pretty little pieces when I was toting around my babies, it would have been a lifesaver. I can't tell you how many broken pieces of jewelry I've endured from curious little hands and mouths. The jewelry is food-grade silicon and BPA free. These are perfect gifts for new mamas, aunties, and anyone that holds babies!

Custom Wood Signs & Graphics by EllieJoy Boutique • This little shop on Etsy is owned and operated by Rachel, who also happens to be my cousin! She's an Air Force Chaplain's wife, mama to five and graphic designer. We both began design around the same time in the early 2000s.

I'm super excited for Rach's new venture and wanted to share that she does custom work outside of what is listed in Etsy, so check out her work and follow her adventures on Instagram and Facebook, too!

LILLIAN & CO Bracelets • These are beautiful statements to wear. As a mama who dares to live my dream, these are perfect mantras and reminders on a daily basis to live in our magic and spread it far and wide. With twelve (12) different sayings, you're sure to find one that is perfect for the Mama in your life. I found this little gem of a company on Instagram one day, and drool over the pieces often. They stack perfect with other bangles and watches! I am hoping that the "Go Live Your Dream" bracelet graces my wrist soon. :)

Spireside Candles (formerly Anthology Candles) • Handmade in the USA, these are whimsically inspired candles and wax melts. I fell in love with their product branding and photos on Instagram! Pineapple Whip is on my wish list, along with Main Street Bakery and The Confectionary. I know, I know so much sugar. :)

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Official Teaser Trailer

I don't know about you, but we are counting down to December 15, 2017. Disney has just released the official teaser trailer and poster for Episode VIII.

See for yourself.

"Breathe. Just breathe." – Luke Skywalker

If you remember, we last saw Finn under glass like Snow White, poor guy. I want him to wake up so badly. It's just so eerie to see him laying there STILL. He'd better not die on us. Although, my daughter reminded me that this film picks up from the last one and he was just injured. Let's hope she's right.

From the trailer, Poe Dameron is running from something, with our favorite droid, BB-8. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the film. He's a bad ass pilot. Oh, and BB-8 is a little smart hunk of technology. He brings so much humor. Lucasfilm always does a great job of bringing EVERY character to life.

We also all know Kylo Ren is just a ball of crazy and we don't trust him, so I have no idea what to expect with him in this next film aside from bad things.

General-Organa-Star-Wars-Sparks-of-Magic.jpg

Um. ALL tears when I saw General Organa's silhouette. For reals. I will be bringing a box of tissues (most likely Star Wars themed) to the theater.

And now, the cliffhanger.

OMG. What hell did Luke just say?! Did you catch it? At the very end. Go back and rewind. I will not be a putting that out into the universe.

I have so. many. questions.

Sound off, Magic Makers. What are your thoughts?!

May the Force be with us all!

Magic Moments: Games and Learning with Kids - Scrabble x Disney

Family, Disney, EntertainmentCamilleComment

Naturally, we love Disney games at our house. I purchased the Scrabble "Disney Theme Park Edition" game last year, but I never made the time to sit and play with the kids. I know, that's terrible, but that's the facts. My intention is to change the fact that moments with the kids are few, at least when it comes to organized games or activities. Half the time I'm lucky my dinner table is cleared of "life" so we can sit down and enjoy dinner together, let alone a board game!

One of the kids' favorite games to play with my parents is Scrabble. When I saw that Disney had their own version (of course), I had to pick it up. The game is just as magical as you would think it to be, with a twist of pixie dust added. You get extra points for using Disney words and/or phrases, which is perfect for us Disney-loving people.

Playing board games can be a fun treat at home, or on-the-go! Consider packing one or two for your next road trip or family vacation. You'll be making memories on vacation, even in your "down time."

Learning: Scrabble is a fun word game that really is perfect for kids, regardless of age! When we first started playing with my parents a few years ago, the kids usually teamed up with an adult. Today, they play on their own and they're increasing their vocabulary as we have them look up words in the dictionary and thesaurus. Granted, when playing with younger kids, each turn takes a little longer than if we played with all adults, but it really is a fun game to play together as a family. The kids learn to be resourceful with a dictionary, and we all have a fun time learning new words and realizing how big our imaginations can be when we accidentally create words. The game gives us all practice in patience, teamwork, comprehension, and exercising our creative brain muscles.

In the box: This special Disney edition comes with some fun pixie dust! Aside from the board, 4 wooden tile holder and 100 tiles, you receive a cute little pouch with the castle graphic & fireworks. The bag has a velcro closure, which is great since it lays flat in the box. The tiles are imprinted with the letters and point value in blue. Unlike classic Scrabble, there are also 26 Magic cards that come with it, fully decked out with Disney graphics, and special instructions enhancing game play. I think it's a pretty awesome game to have in our collection, and one that we will play for years to come. We also have monopoly, but let's be honest that game takes days to end. This is perfect for a family game night before or after a Disney movie, of course!

Where to buy it: I honestly can't remember where I purchased my version, but after looking at Amazon, it's slim pickings. The only ones are available for a minimum of $100 for the Disney Theme Park Edition. If you're a mega Disney fan, it might be something you'd consider. For me, I know I didn't pay that much, so I'm thinking in the range of $50 max. You might be able to get it in store at Target or Walmart. Sometimes your local hallmark will have special edition board games.

I'm sure you know by now, that we will try anything that is Disney themed at least once, and I'm happy to report that this game will be one we will be taking on road trips to play in the hotel!

Do you have a favorite Disney themed or classic board game?

Back at it Again!

Travel, Family, EntertainmentCamilleComment

Well, it's the second quarter of 2016, and it has been an eventful year, thus far. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you might have seen what I've been up to outside of work and family (surprisingly not too much, especially in the writing area). The past three months have been extremely busy and unfortunately, Sparks of Magic was put on the back burner as I worked, at one point 3 jobs, and maintained my sanity on the home front as mama, wife, and everything in between.

I'm relieved and so excited to say that I am pretty much settled into one full time job and our little business is doing great with my hubby taking the reigns on that!

Here's a fairly quick recap of our family's last three months:

December:

image.jpg

Christmas!! We made an epic Christmas card (That I never sent out, aside from social media) dedicated to our family's favorite franchise: Star Wars. The holiday season was great to us. We were blessed with extra family time and I transitioned out of working multiple jobs. to just one. Yay! And as you can see below, my degree came in the mail! I finished my Bachelors program at the end of November.

January:

I honestly can't remember January, aside from celebrating my mom's birthday, working, and staying afloat! This month almost everyone got the flu, it's kind of all a haze. :)

February:

Big changes, the hubby had a job change mid-month, and we began to officially plan our spring break excursion to Southern CA to see family, and our favorite Mouse. :)

March:

Spring Break finally rolled around, and the happenings included visits with family and friends in Los Angeles, a whirlwind day at Disneyland Resort, and, unfortunately, the hospital. Thankfully our daughter is doing well, and back at living life 110% full of energy and sass. :) Jeff and the kids that were in good health, spent a night at the beach with the in-laws. We had a blast, but think we need a "do-over" at the Happiest Place on Earth with no wheelchairs or ice packs involved!

So, what's up for the future?

Sparks of Magic: A lot of fun! In addition to picking up momentum here, I'll be linking to my writing that can be found on other fabulous sites like Disney Moms of Color, DisneyExaminer, Entertainment New Media Network, and The Blogorail!

I will be attending at least two conferences this year (ConnectHER and ENMN) that I can't wait to update you on and some ambassadorships/partnerships will be revealed soon! While I will continue to partner with brands that compliment my site and offer value to my readers, my writing will remain transparent and I plan on writing more from my heart. I'm excited for what is in store.

HAN Creative Co: We are thrilled to dive into offering workshops and expand some of our photography and event services. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, you can visit our business site: www.hancreativeco.com. We are currently taking a few design/small business clients over the next month, you can subscribe to our newsletter that will launch this quarter.

The Walls: For our family, we are putting it into the universe to spend more time together and travel as a family more. Whether it is a day trip or weekend getaway, we want to see the world - together. Bits and pieces of our documentation will be found both here on Sparks and on our business site. We are encouraging the kids to write more, and are setting up a place for them to do some of their own blogging and journaling of their lives and experiences on family trips. All in good time. :)

I want to thank those of you that have checked in with me to make sure I'm A-OK since my quarter-long blog hiatus. I appreciate all of you and cannot wait to be back in the groove of things again. I hope your 2016 is treating you fabulously!

The Good Dinosaur is Coming!

Disney, EntertainmentCamilleComment

A little back story on me and the dinosaurs. Growing up, The Land Before Time was one of my favorite non-Disney films. Then, in junior high it all changed. I was no longer a fan of dinosaurs, thanks to my traumatizing experience watching Jurassic Park; I was thoroughly convinced a velociraptor would take the pleasure of randomly attacking me in the middle of the night.

I know, some imagination, huh?

Needless to say, now that we are back to cutesy looking dinosaurs and meaningful storylines (besides "there's a dinosaur: R-U-N), I am excited to be back in the dino game. :)

A SINGLE MOMENT CAN CHANGE HISTORY...

So, what exactly would happen if dinosaurs were never extinct and lived amongst humans?

This is the story of the an Apatosaurus dinosaur named Arlo (voiced by Raymond Ochoa) and a cute little human friend that he meets along the way of his journey to becoming brave.

I'm also excited to share that the Director, Peter Sohn, was also the voice of "Squishy" from Monsters University, my son will be thrilled about that. The producer, Denise Ream, also produced "Cars 2" and was an associate producer for Pixar's "Up."

FACE YOUR FEARS

If there's one thing that my husband and I really hope to teach and live by example for our kids, it's to face our fears. In life, we will be presented with obstacles and some of them might scare us; we might feel helpless or like there's no way around them. But teaching them that it's okay to have fear, but to face it and look it in the eyes and KEEP GOING, that's when we become brave. I'm really excited to have another Disney•Pixar film that reinforces this mindset.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for November 25, 2015, when The Good Dinosaur is released!

What do you think about the trailer? Are you just as excited as I am, to see this cute little dino take over the silver screen? :)

What's Your Legacy? Walt Disney Records and H2OPlus #ShareYourLegacy Sweepstakes!

Thoughts, DisneyCamilleComment

I was originally introduced to the H2O+ amenity line as a guest at the Disneyland Resort. They are the exclusive worldwide provider for in-room amenities of the Disney Resorts, and I have to say their products are AMAZING.

H2O+ helps women achieve healthy, hydrated skin through advanced water-baed formulas and innovative skincare technology.

Walls-Sparks of Magic - H2O - Legacy.JPG

Guess what?! H2O+ is teaming up with Walt Disney Records to celebrate The Legacy Collection, which commemorates the rich heritage of classic Disney films and soundtracks. Remember my previous post about The Little Mermaid Legacy Collection? I seriously love the Legacy Collection and the next one on my list is "Disneyland."

WHAT IS YOUR LEGACY?

Have you considered what are you leaving behind as you travel through life? As a busy mom of five, attempting to navigate through life working both in and out of the home, tending to the family, being a daughter, sister, friend, and making sure that I MAKE time for myself, I can say my legacy today is hard work, determination, faith, and positivity.

What will it be when I am gone? Well, I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon, so I know there will be more adventure, triumph and even trials ahead that I will learn and grow from. It think my legacy will evolve a little with each new experience.

That being said, I want to leave a life legacy of full of love, magic, integrity, passion, perseverance, kindness, and hard work. I want my kids to realize and understand that life comes around only once, and if they have a dream, to set goals and take steps towards living that dream. Life is taken way too seriously and a lot of stress comes from not being happy in where you are, simply because you are focused on where you want to be. I think that we can enjoy the present, even if it is not ideal, but we should also take steps to make changes that we can.

I want to encourage a life of passion, kindness, and faith in my kids. I want them to believe in themselves, and be confident in their skills, and their skin. I want them to see me love others and know that we should be kind. I want them to work hard. They see their Daddy and I work really hard, and they've already begun to follow suite. I'm proud of them and I hope they are proud of me and the legacy I will leave behind. It begins now.

I invite you to #ShareYourLegacy because we all have a story and all stories lead to a legacy.

Enter now for a chance to add an exciting Broadway story to your legacy. Grand Prize Winner and a guest will be whisked away to New York City for a once in a lifetime Broadway experience. Find out more at: www.h2oplus.com/legacy and #ShareYourLegacy with us!

With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter), who’s catapulted into the midst of a dangerous plot and must transform his closest companion—a robot named Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit)—and a diverse group of friends into a band of high-tech heroes.
