Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

If hurricane and earthquake weather in Southern California didn't usher in feelings of fall, I don't know what else will! We survived and I'm excited to share that Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort returns in September!

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with their pals, will celebrate the season with all new looks during Halloween Time in 2023 at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Luminescent sheer fabrics will give a ghostly glow to their festive attire with cobwebs and details like bat bowties and spider-shaped bells. More details can be found on DisneyParksBlog.com. Beginning Friday, September 1 through October 31, Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort commences and Mickey Mouse and his fabulous friends are decked out in their Halloween attire. I always love seeing their new outfits for each occasion! Aside from Holidays, this is my favorite time to visit the Disneyland Resort, there's so much for every family member to experience throughout the day. Haunted Mansion Holiday during Halloween Time at Disneyland Park features a merry makeover of the beloved eerie estate. Jack Skellington is behind the mayhem, decorating the mansion with frightfully festive touches inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Dedicated fans of the holiday house will look forward to spotting the annual bespoke gingerbread house on its precarious perch on the ballroom table. Other favorite sights await, including characters from the movie Sally, Zero and other Nightmare nasties on hand. (Disneyland Resort)

The "Halloween Screams" show lights up Main Street U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America, and the "it's a small world" facade; on select nights, fireworks will join the party and light up the skies! I'm looking forward to strolling onto Main Street U.S.A. and seeing our Mickey pumpkin! Don't forget to visit Jack Skellington and crew to wreck the halls of Haunted Mansion Holiday! I honestly only ride that attraction with "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" overlay. I love seeing the gingerbread house

The citizens of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park celebrate Halloween by turning Radiator Springs into Radiator Screams. The entire land is transformed with a special Haul-O-Ween makeover as the townsfolk of Radiator Springs don Halloween “car-stumes” and decorate their respective homes for the season. The family-friendly attractions, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters opt for happily hair-raising soundtracks to become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. © Richard Harbaugh/Disneyland Resort

Disney California Adventure (DCA)

Head to DCA to see the Halloween Time transformation in Cars Land. Mator's JamBOOree is probably one of my favorite rides in Cars Land! Want some Avengers action in the evening? Definitely hop on Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark. You'll experience a special version of the attraction just for Halloween and it only transforms in the evenings.

During Halloween Time, Downtown Disney District gets in the Halloween spirit with delightful décor, seasonal treats and a Halloween-themed pumpkin hunt, Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit. Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will bring frightfully fun experiences to guests with Halloween magic throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks. (Disneyland Resort)

Be sure to participate in Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit, a fun Halloween scavenger hunt. Purchase your map at a participating location and commemorate your hunt with a collectible keepsake! Make sure to check out various locations that will have fall special offerings (you know, spooky treats).

Día de los Muertos at the Disneyland Resort

September 1 through November 2, Disney and Pixar's "Coco" are also featured at Plaza de la Familia. Guests can also participate in honoring Mexican traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Families can enjoy family crafts and live entertainment in Paradise Gardens. "A Musical Celebration of Coco" will be presented by Folklórico dancers, Mariachi singers and musicians. Guests can take photos with Miguel and add remembrance notes to the Memory Wall. It's a special time for families to gather and experience magic and share memories together.
